CAM Part and Tool Table

Automated CAM-Part Definition allow you to reduce the time for setting up CAM-Part in SolidCAM. Creating a New parts already Pre-set for standard Post Processor, Coordinate System, Stock and Target. All you have to do is, if there is any setting that is no standard set in the pre-setting, you have to change it.

Understand all the function in Tool Table, to reduce the time for renumbering and changing the tooling number. Using Filter to filter out the Tooling Diameter, Tooling Type or Tooling Number.

Create a New Shape Tools. Today’s consumers demand more. More new products. Higher quality products. And often more products for less money. In order to stay competitive–often to stay in business–today’s manufacturers expect their suppliers to provide better, faster, and more cost-effective ways to produce and deliver those products. If your company has using “Special” Tooling. This will show you how SolidCAM create a Special Tools.

What is CAM-Part Definition

The CAM-Part definition process includes the following stages:

  • CAM-Part creation-define the necessary system file and a folder to allocate the place to store SolidCAM data.
  • CNC-controller definition-The controller type influences the Coordinate System definition and the Geometry definition.
  • Coordinate system definition-the origin for all machining operation of the CAM-Part.
  • Stock model definition-stock model that describes the initial state of the workpiece to be machined.
  • Target model definition-the model of the part in its final state after the machining.

For a standard way, we need to manually define all the process stage.

By using Automated CAM-Part Definition we can skip all the process above, we just need go to solidCam setting and Pre-set it as automatic.

Permanent tool number

In some workshops people has “tool sets” with the same tool positions in the machine magazine. This can easily solve in SolidCAM with option “Permanent tool number”
