SOLIDWORK Xpress
Enhance Your Product Development Process
Enhance Your Product Development Process
Do you know, if you are a SOLIDWORKS user you are entitle for 4 different yet useful free SOLIDWORKS Xpress tools to enhance your product development process?
Each of these tools can have a place in your product development processes, if you take advantage of them. Briefly, their capabilities are as follows; SimulationXpress provides part-only Finite Element Analysis, FloXpress provides internal flow Computational Fluid Dynamics and DriveWorksXpress is a powerful design automation tool, and DFMXpress is a validation tool for manufacturing process.
Here are the 4 products that you are entitled for:
SimulationXpress Analysis Wizard
FloXpress Analysis Wizard
DriveWorksXpress Wizard
DFMXpress Analysis Wizard
SOLIDWORKS SimulationXpress offers an easy-to-use first pass stress analysis tool for SOLIDWORKS users. SimulationXpress can help you reduce cost and time-to-market by testing your designs on the computer instead of expensive and time-consuming field tests.
For example, you might want to examine the effects of a force applied to the faucet. SimulationXpress simulates the design cycle and provides stress results. It also shows critical areas and safety levels at various regions in the faucet. Based on these results, you can strengthen unsafe regions and remove material from overdesigned ones.
SimulationXpress uses the same simulation technology that SOLIDWORKS Simulation uses to perform stress analysis. More advanced simulation capabilities are available within the SOLIDWORKS Simulation line of products.
The wizard interface of SimulationXpress uses elements of the full Simulation interface to guide you through a step-by-step process to specify fixtures, loads, material, run the simulation, and view the results.

SOLIDWORKS FloXpress is a fluid dynamics application that calculates how fluid flows through part or assembly models. Based on the calculated velocity field, you can find problem areas in your design and improve them before you manufacture any parts.
SOLIDWORKS FloXpress can analyze the flow in a single internal cavity with one inlet and one outlet opening. The opening must be closed with lids. Once a pressure is selected, you can run the analysis to calculate flow velocity. When SOLIDWORKS FloXpress completes the analysis, you can examine flow trajectories, which are the flow lines between the inlet and outlet openings. Trajectories are tangent to the flow velocity at every point.

DFMXpress validates design for manufacturability for parts.
Validation includes Milling/Drilling, Turn with Mill Drill, Sheet Metal, Injection Molding manufacturing process. It allows you to create rule parameters to help you in validating your design. It is a free module before you move on to more advance version of DFMPro version.

DriveWorksXpress provides entry-level Design Automation. It is ideal for everyday repetitive design tasks and can be used to create multiple variations of SOLIDWORKS Parts, Assemblies and Drawings quickly and accurately. These tasks follow a set of rules (defined by the user) that are saved in a rules-based project you set up once and run again and again.

You will need to create a MySolidWorks account. If you have SolidWorks ID, you can use your SolidWorks ID to login to MySolidWorks account, since SolidWorks ID is ONE account to access across SolidWorks platform. Otherwise, you will need to create a MySolidWorks account.
After create a MySolidWorks account, go to this link https://my.solidworks.com/xpress
You will only need to key in your SolidWorks serial number and SolidWorks version that you are using then choose the Xpress Product that you would like to obtain.
We’ll hear from the team every few weeks over the next couple of months – they’ll share their expert perspectives and experience.
